I'm at a bit of a loss - the brake lights are on full time, and planet is indicating that the switch is pressed all the time ('Yes'), apart from a brief moment during starting the car when it indicates 'No'. The switch is firmly attached, and seems to operate. When I pop it out and operate it by hand there is one pair of contacts normally closed, and one normally open. They measure fine with a meter, but even by hand the indication on planet doesn't change.
I've just collected a pair of filament bulbs to swap out the pair of LED bulbs that are in the tail only holders. I've heard that the system can be fussy about having the correct bulbs in. Will update when they are in and tested.
A new switch is ordered, as it was only a few pounds, but I don't believe this is an issue.
Any other suggestions ?

Even more odd. a BSI reset (procedure on the web) seems to have fixed this !
