Anyone got a 407 SW HDI?

Post by kitchD6C »

Just pressed one of these into service as a daily. Got it for nothing, only owes me £120 so far to put it on the road!

Couple of questions though:

Firstly, how hot are they supposed to run? It'll get to 90deg C in traffic and stationary no problem, fan cuts in and out etc., but on the move it cools down to around 75deg C - no where near halfway on the gauge. Is that normal, or should I be checking my thermostat out?

Rear windows both drop, and trying to operate them provides lots of grinding sounds with no movement of windows! New regulator?

Parking sensors - mine's an SE, and has a button for this. Also have the option on Diagbox, but if I try turning them on I just get beeping. It has no visible sensors on the back, are they hidden are has someone removed them?

The glass roof sunscreen winds in and out happily, but the majority of the screen is detached from it, and is buried back inside the roof lining! Has anyone had one apart before? Got a feeling summers are going to be fairly unpleasant with it at the moment

Otherwise, seems a nice if unremarkable car. I can see why Peugeot have been slated recently, as it's not a patch to drive on something like a 306 or 405, but it's a comfy enough bus with plenty of toys, and as long as you don't want smiles it's a decent companion for daily smoker duties.
