Throttle Body Cleaning?

Post by Jay1762 »

Hi,

I have a 2008 Peugeot 207 GT.

Can anyone tell me the best and easiest way to clean the throttle body on these cars?

Preferably without having to take it out :)

Thank you

I would think spray carburetor cleaner but as I haven't run a petrol vehicle for about 30 years I am no expert.

There are a lot of YouTube clips showing how.

Hey, thanks for replying.

I saw a few videos with the CRC spray but apparently they are not supposed to be used on cars with a turbo hence my question. I was wondering if there was anything suitable like a spray designed specifically for throttle bodies of turbo cars. I have had a look and couldn't see anything so didn't know if anyone knew of anything.

If I can avoid taking the throttle body off then all good, if not will have to bite the bullet and take it off and clean it.

Ah ok cool, I thought its location would make it a bugger of a job, can you get to it from above the engine?

I know it looks difficult on those engines, maybe someone who has had one off will comment.

Do you know the state of your inlet ports?
