04 plate peugeot 807 car alarm constantly going off

Post by allbluedave »

Hey guys. Ok so ive got a peugeot 807 2.2hdi that the alarm keeps going off on its own for no reason. The car is locked and it keeps going off every ten mins or so. Any ideas guys. I found a button on the side of the dash which looks like it deactivates the akarm so just the lights flash but i cant get it to work. Any ideas guys? Cheers :)

Could be the ultrasonic sensors on the blink, not sure how easy it is to replace them as I've only looked into the XM ones that weren't hard at all. Most alarm systems have some means of deactivating the ultrasonic protection (for example if you needed to leave a dog in the car without the alarm triggering) but you'd have to refer to the handbook or with a bit of luck someone here will know how to do it.

It could also possibly be as simple as a spider or other creepy crawly in the car annoying the sensors.

Cheers ekj. I thought it might be the terminals on the rear electric doors as the look a bit tarnished. Didnt think of those.

As far as I recall the button on the dash just disables the interior sensors, not the door sensors. If you lock the car with the key it won't set the alarm.

The door contacts on ours would cause the alarm to sound (or at least cleaning them stopped it). Also, what state is the battery in?
