Peugeot 308 1.6 VTi - Poor heater.

Post by R9UKE »

Evening all.

We've finally replaced my grandmother's C4 HDi Coupe after ten years, with a lovely 2009 Peugeot 308 1.6 VTi S Auto.

Just 24k miles with full Peugeot history. It's superb in every way, except the heater.

There IS heat, it's just pretty pathetic. The car gets to temperature fine and stays there. Plenty of coolant and its circulating well. Pollen filter has been changed and you can hear a change when turning the dial from cold to hot.

Is there a common issue here I'm missing?

Thanks.

if its getting hot & circulating at the matrix & theres deffo no air in the system then is sounds like the hot/cold mixer flap might not be going all the way to hot ?

Have changed a couple of matrix,s on these, It's easy to check the pipes for heat in the passenger footwell.

Thanks guys. After a week of living with it, I've been informed the heater is perfectly adequate. The coolant was just below minimum when we got it, I've topped it up to max, and it has remained there.
