2000 806 hdi battery light and handbrake light

dispatch finally gone to meet its maker so in the absence of a cheap synergie found an 806.
a few years newer than the dispatch and its older xud engine, the hdi feels more refined and smoother
Anyway a few hopefully minor issues with it,
the battery light flashes when first starting and goes on for five minutes or so of driving then goes out to be seen no more that day unless really cold.
Its like it is flashing a fault code, 3 quick flashes then 2 slow flashes will check tomorrow morning to see if it is a sequence. All connections to battery alternator and earth are good.
And the handbrake light comes on randomly whilst driving, this I can get to go out by stopping turning the engine off and restarting.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Can't see why the charge light would do that. Is it multplexed or not ?

The brake light could be low fluid ( ! ) a faulty fluid level switch or handbrake switch.
