Is this a wiring loom problem (206 1.4i 8v petrol)

Not been on for a while but need some help.
My daughters W plate 206 1.4 8v petrol is playing up, at first it was stalling on overrun, I took the ICV out, cleaned it and all was well.
Today it's been revving to 2k all the time, I checked the ICV (swapped for a known good one), the revving stopped but it was back to stalling and was missing until revs rise.
I know the coil pack can cause problems so I removed it (it's the black plug type) and also checked the plugs (NGK BKR6EZ) all look fine, good colour.
When I put it back together it now runs sweet.

So very time I disturb the wiring it either gets worse or runs well, with this in mind do you think I need to replace the engine bay loom, if so, where do I get one, I've looked on Ebay but nothing.

Any help will be great.

Are there any codes present ? I'd expect a wiring issue to be throwing codes about missing / invalid signal data.

I'm trying to get the codes read, but on a bank holiday weekend I coming with blanks.
Plus as it's running ok at present my daughter isn't keen on spending money
