2007 207 1.4 hdi occasional misfire

Post by chrisf1 »

Hi everyone i have a recurring problem with my wifes 2007 207 1.4 hdi most of the time it runs perfectly but occasionally it develops a misfire and cuts out we have had the codes read and the mechanic reported nothing untoward showing, the car will be driving normally and then a complete loss of power but will start again straight away then if it has not cleared its misfire it can be heard while revving stationary but often it clears we have had this before and believed it to be the crank sensor which we changed it then went fine for a week or so and did it again, we then found the connections to the crank sensor to be very corroded in the plug so these were cleaned and replaced where needed and fine for another week now it has started happening again the car has recently had timing belt, water pump all oils and filters can anyone offer any advice on this as it my wifes pride and joy and she is making my life hell please someone tell me how to cure this problem many thanks Chris

Check injector seals on the 1.4hdi. If you hear a chuff chuff when idling that could be the problem. More likely to be electrical though.

what sort of code reader was used, if it hasnt already it is best to get a Peugeot planet/DIS-LEXIA plugged up it, view the link below

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 19&t=29178" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the map shows were FCF members owning Peugeot planet/DIS-LEXIA's are besed,

most FCF members will run a scan for chocy bickys (please Sir Admin can we have a chocy bicky smilie to go with the :teabag: :teabag: #-o ) and :teabag: :teabag: :teabag:
