1999 206 Electrical faults possible BSI reboot needed? :-s

Post by Leytham »

HI Guys,

my girlfriend has a 1999 206 1.1

and none of the following are working

Indicators
headlights
electric windows
wipers (turn on but don't turn off)
heaters
radio
ECU diagnostics port not working (on my little scanner or AA scanner)

Car starts and drives fine.

I have replaced the EC, BSI and the little key surround with one from another 206 and have the same problems

I have tried a manual BSI reboot (disconnecting battery and turning on lights in right order etc...)
I have been told I need to get the car plugged into peugeot planet and reset the BSI.

Is there anyone in gloucestershire that has the software to do this?

Many Thanks in advance

The Lexia is a piece of hardware that plugs into the diagnostics port. It is driven from a PC (typically a laptop) with the software installed. The following link has all the members with Lexia kit who are willing to help;

Check the main earth onto the gearbox casing, they are bad for rotting right at the eyelet, the cable can appear fine but when you give them a light tug they just crumble & break off. I I remember right it goes from the battery negative to the gearbox then from the gearbox to the body, the way it breaks leaves the actual gearbox lead in tact but the conection to the chassis is lost hence the reason the engine still starts but you loose lots of interior electrics. Certainly worth a check.
