207 1.4 misfire when warm

Post by TomC »

I have a 2007 1.4 207 that has just started to hunt and misfire intermittently when warm, the car runs fine when cold but after about 15 minutes the misfire randomly appears. I have changed the spark plugs and I have also changed the lambda sensor as this was given as a possible cause.

Any ideas?

Nope. When a sent message is read it will be shown in the "Sent" box; until then it remains in the "Out" box.

Could be coil or could be lambda or any one of several things. To me the fault would be typical of a lambda sensor fault. The car runs fine on open loop control whilst it is cold. When it warms up it switches to closed loop control where the fuel/air ratio is determined by the lambda or O2 sensor. An out of tolerance sensor does not always bring on the MIL (engine management warning). Observe the live data and see if the fault occurs at the regime change over or simply disconnect and leave disconnected the lambda sensor to see if the car continues to run ok. Disconnecting the sensor will illuminate the MIL. If you want to be scientific observe the lambda output on an oscilloscope.

Hi

I can see 2 guys that are close to myself, Greegor & stvstx. I have tried to message both of them but the system says that their user accounts don't exist..

Is there another way to contact these guys?

Hi,

I had my Peugeot analysed on a Lexia tester.. The machine didn't show any errors but the garage said that they could see via the data that the throttle body sensor may be faulty, replaced this at a cost of £130.00 and the fault was still there. They then said that the ECU may be faulty. Sent this away and they came back to say that the injector unit was faulty. Had the ECU repaired £300.00, fitted it back to the car and the fault is still there..

Any ideas?

are you sure it were a LEXIA they plugged up it ?????, and not a generic workshop analyser,

sounds like you need to find a different garage

just remembered i sorted a 1.1 206 out some time back, this had a misfire, my lexia showed it was an injector fault,

we found a set of injectors at

G.M Woodgate & Son
Potteries
Further Quarter
High Halden
Ashford, Kent
TN26 3HX

Tel: 01233 850303

on phoning them the guy said they had sorted quite a few of these out, and it was not the injectors but the injector harness,

so i purchased a set of injectors and the harness from the for £30 squid,
fitted the lot and it sorted the problem,

i know this is not conclusive of an injector or the harness, but its such a fiddly job seperating them from each other in situe, i assembled the set on the bench and installed the set

Hi Malcolm,

Still battling my Peugeot.. Your guy at Woodgate's was very help full but it appears that my 207 has a rare injector set.. That said I did decide to check out the Injectors via a screw driver and my lug hole.. One of them sounds flat in comparison to the other 3 as they are sharp and crisp.

My next plan is to change this one to see if it's over fuelling..

i believe Richard ( handyman ) has a DIS-LEXIA and he is close, ish to you me thinks,

although i cant see him on the DIS-LEXIA location map

also
have you tried giving PCR Lancing a call

http://www.pcr767676.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

as they are Cit/Pug specialist dismantlers,

also if you send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. i will get you the OE price and part No. for the injectors and harness,

then if you do not like the OE price you can do a goooogly search with the No. to see if anyone has NOS = new old stock,

i can also do an all families search to see which other Cit/Pug models use those injectors,

this might give you more cars to look under the bonnet at any breakers yard you might go to
