I would think the most likely cause is air in the fuel supply, unless the in tank pump is failing.

On the older engines the test was to fit a clear section of fuel pipe on the input to the pump, don't know if that is possible on the Hdi, it probably is but you will have to cut the existing pipe to do it.

What year is the 306? If its fairly modern then the Lexia equipment should be able to read live data and tell you what's wrong.

It depends on the forum member. The best thing to do is to PM them and ask. When I asked CitroJim for help he asked for de-caff teabags, and I got him a box of PG Tips de-caff and a box of Twinings Earl Grey (also de-caff). He seemed happy with that, and we (well, he) sorted the problem with Gracie.

Using the map, locate the members nearest you. Make an accurate note of their forum name (make sure to get the case correct, member names are case sensitive). Then look near the top of the webpage and you will see three tabs; User Control Panel, 0 new messages (unless somebody has sent you a message, then the number changes), and View your posts. Click on the messages tab. Then click on New PM. In the small box below the large 'Compose Message' type in the member name as it appeared in the map and click on the Add button. If you typed in the name correctly after a moment it will appear above and to the right of the box. Type in the other details as you would for a normal e-mail, and (once you are happy with the message) click on the Submit button below the message. It will then go into your Outbox. It will remain in the Outbox until the recipient has read it, and then it will be moved into the Sent box.

was reading a thread eles where about same problem iam having they said about taking the cap off the fuel tank so i thought i would give it ago so i took mine off this morning and drove to work without any problems the car ran perfect without any missfire/hesitation iam guessing its a problem with the fuel cap being on the tank could be starving the car of fuel

There normally is some form of breather pipe (or the fuel cap has a breather hole through it) in the fuel tank to allow air in as the fuel is used. I would find out what breather system your car uses, and clear the blockage.
