HI chassis no.VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] REG ND 54 WJE, just fitted earth cable to engine tonight ,so see what it,s like in morning

A fresh healthy battery will no doubt just be masking the problem.
Would definitely be worth doing a volt drop tests on the starter live cable & the earth (although if you have just replaced it then the earth should be fine).

Hi, Thank you for going to so much trouble to find the correct motor for me ,I saw somewhere that there is an upgraded motor to sort this wide spread problem out,wish it was like a morris1000 or a old escort where you can actually see the motor :lol: those were the days :-D ,will keep you informed on the result of the new battery
