Reprograming Remote Fob

Spent the last week or so, sorting out new/spare keys for my 2004 307cc.
I only had one key,(working remote locking).

Acquired 2nd hand fobs, spent some time trying to get to work with PP. Then read that the transponder is not "re-writable" from one car to another.
Bought new "virgin" transponder, and successfully got to work. So now starts with 2nd hand fob/blade. Then spent time trying to synch remote locking part to the car. No success, again after a bit more reading, I am thinking it can't be done, you can only synch fobs that came with the car, and not 2nd hand units from another car.

Can anyone confirm this, or know of a way to fix?

P.s I have just finished converting a non-flick key to the newer style flick blade type. Not the best of quality (eBay purchase) bot looks and works ok.

Correct, you can't use second hand transponders.
