I've also listed this post in the Citroen section but the engines are identical so someone on here may be able to help.
My daughter has a 2000 Saxo 1.1i. 68000 miles
When we bought it it I did a full service and it ran fine ,then after a few months it began to idle erratically and lose power under load.
I changed the idle control valve, plugs and HT leads. The battery was off for about 24 hours.
Re-attached battery and everything was fine again....for a couple of days and now its as bad if not worse.
One thing I noticed I couldn't alter the trip reset or the clock on the electronic dash (the speedo and rev gauge are normal just the mileage, trip and clock). However I could change them after I replaced the above parts.
Now the car is playing up I cannot again change the trip or the clock.
I have disconnected the green ecu sensor on the block but its just the same.
I read that disconnecting the battery for 24 hours resets the ecu.
So I'm now wondering did I replace a faulty part or not, or did I simply reset the ECU?
The clocks bit is also baffling.
HAs anybody experienced this?
What should I be looking at ?
The engine management light is not lit.
When I drove the car today it was fine whilst cold but when it started misbehaving when it warmed up.
I believe it is SPI (single point injection).
Thanks in advance.
