Pug 306 Tick Over RPM

Post by steveoracle »

Hi All

My new Pug 306 Diesel HDi is perfect. It seems to tick over a bit faster than my previous car at about 1100. Does anyone know what the normal rate is and is it easy to turn down?

That does sound fast, I think mine run at about 800 rpm. There is no mechanical idle adjustment as the injection is electronic, may be possible to adjust it but you would need a Lexia. Does it have a throttle cable leading to the pot, if so it could be sticking or out of adjustment.

It should start around that when cold then drop down when warm. A faulty MAF could be the culprit (and won't show an engine warning light).

Planet should tell you more.
