Looking for a 2.0 Meridian HDi

Post by steveoracle »

Hello everyone

I'm Steve from NE UK. This looks like a great place to get info. A little background... I've driven 306 2.0 HDi Pugs for 10 years, love 'em to bits, and my latest one has died - £600 for MOT :( . I'm looking for something similar for less than £1000 ... don't really know where to start looking .. there's a lot of rubbish around. Can anyone help me get started looking?
All the best

Do you really want a Meridian? I find the half leather is worn on most of them. Personally I'd go for the LX.

For £1000 you should easily get a sub-100,000 miler on an X plate. I picked up one for just £800 - one owner from new, history, immaculate throughout. I had to be quick though as similar ones went within hours.

I just scour Ebay and Autotrader.

Ebay is the place to look because you can see what they are actually selling for which of course is their true value.

Gibbo thanks for this, much appreciated. I've bought the first one in your post after finding it myself on Friday. ... it's easily the best car I've ever owned. 53K genuine miles and is perfect in every way, drives like new!! I paid £1100 for it which is expensive for an older car but it'll last me a good few years.

I'm now looking for roof bars for it. Anyone got anything cheap to sell?

Brilliant, glad I could help. That car was showing up as 35 miles away from me, does that mean you're local?

For roofbars check out Ebay or Gumtree or Preloved. I bought and sold bars on all of them.

Brill thanks. I'm in Guisborough but the car looked so good I caught the train to Rochdale to pick it up. Gamble paid off!

I'll check your suggestions for roof bars ....
