has anyone had trouble with oil consumption increasing at 80,000 miles, and does anyone know where to get pistons and liners cheap just incase its not valve oilseals?
ps peugeot state 1 litre for 1200 miles is ok
mine used half that till last month now its using 1 litre for 1200 miles (far to much in my opinion)any suggestions welcome

What viscosity of oil are you using?
Some synthetics are great but very thin so it's more likely to seep all over the place through wee gaps.
But who knows? I'm no expert on all this.
How is the car performing?
If it's performing as good as it ever has don't worry.

I'm not sure what to suggest other than checking whether it's being burnt or leaking, check fumes on start up. I disagree that it may not be a problem if the performance is still there. If a seal has gone/is going, then it can perish quite quickly once it starts to degrade. Either way it would be a good idea to have it checked out, especially running it at this time of year.

ITS FIXED!!!!!!!!YES,NEW VALVE OILSEALS AND ALL IS WELL,HAD TO MAKE A SPECIAL TOOL THOUGH SO I COULD DO IT WITHOUT TAKING THE HEAD OFF,BIT OF A CHEW ON BUT WORTH IT NOT TO DISTURB THE HEAD.
