206 non runner

just wondering what might be rquired to fix/get started a 1.1 51 plate 206, if it shows as immobiliser fault causing it to not start,

i havent seen this car yet but i might be interested in purchasing it, and wondered what cost/expense i might be in for

Multiplexed? If so I'd wager PSF1.

not sure when Multiplex came in, i would think being a 51 plate it wont be ?????

I know on the Berlingos it came in around mid-2000. Suspect the 206 would be similar.

51 is 99% certain to be plexed, only some unregistered ones floating around back then would of been non plexed*

Typically Y plates are 50/50 on either wiring layout so I'd say its about 90% certain it will be plexed.

*well lights/wipers were sort of plexed on all of them in a fashion.


Without teaching you to suck eggs, favourite initial thought is transponder aerial as sometimes the wiring inside the unit can go a bit bad.

ok thanks Andy

its just i have seen one for sale that might suite her indoors if/when she pass's her driving test,
she passed the one were she drives me up the wall years ago but :roll: :-D :wink:

they say its a non runner and they plugged there scanner up it and it said imobaliser fault,

realy just wondering if it migh cost a lota or could be easy to fix

No problem. I'm sure the wiring would tarnish inside the aerial itself and be a poor connection, I guess there's not a lot to lose with carefully opening it up to check it though.

Same as you I guess, without seeing it its difficult to say but that's my first thought assuming its not decided to "forget" the key or something perhaps because someone whipped the battery leads off while the BSi was awake.

Not really sure what else to suggest as you'll know more than me anyway, another key if one is available is worth trying I guess.
