307sw hdi slow starting in the cold

Post by Timmo »

evening all,
mothers got a 307sw hdi, 2l 90bhp model, on a 53 plate i think, first thing on a cold morning it doesn't like to start straight off, will chugg over and over but nothing, leave it 5 seconds and it then fires up on the second or third spin, its recently been in and been serviced and she mentioned it but they said all was fine, ive suggested possibly the battery loosing a bit of its cold starting grunt?? but thought i'd ask you lovely peeps for your idea's, its done it for the past couple of years now,

any hep or pointers gratefully received, the car isn't close to me so i cant check anything at the mo, but she's down again in a fortnight, (lives in mid somerset and i'm Right down the bottom left!)

ta muchly in advance,

Timmo.
