Hello,
I'm planning on replacing the clutch in my diesel 106 and was wondering if there should be anything else I should be replacing at the same time.
My initial thought is the drive shaft seal; however, is there anything else I should be thinking about?
Also, I would appreciate any recomendations for getting the seal and any other parts I may need?
Thanks, G

Re: 106 1.5 diesel clutch replacement
cant remember if the TUD5 gear box has the nylon fork pivot bush's like all the XANTS and the likes,
but if it dose i might be worth fitting new whilst your in there,
GSF is a good source for the clutch kit and both diff seals, but you might have to go to dealer for the nylon bush's if required,
also if required i have a brand new not re/con still on the pallet it came out of the factory, a TUD5 engine for sale

Yeah, clutch fork bushes are worth replacing and only £1 each or something from the dealer. Stick them in with a little bit of grease and it should make the clutch a lot smoother and lighter. Get the part number for the clutch kit and do a search on ebay, I got a genuine OE kit last year for my 406 for £87 delivered, cheaper than GSF wanted for a pattern part. Likewise driveshaft oil seals. Lots of new old stock out there.

Thanks for the advice; Euro Car Parts did a good price for a LUK clutch kit
I'll have a look for the clutch fork bushes; however, regarding

if you send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. i will get you the OE part No.'s, then you can aim them at the factors,
also i personally wont use E*C*P after being supplied sub slandered parts on at least a couple of times, one the bushes fell apart within 12 months, the other did not work as soon as it was fitted,

Agree on the plastic bush's if you can get them (dealer only probably)
Replace driveshaft seals as indicated as they like to leak if not otherwise.

Re: 106 1.5 diesel clutch replacement
one of the items i had from that bunch was a Bosch boxed lambda sensor, which i fitted then took the car for a MOT re/test, which it failed on the lambda sensor, went back to my workshop fitted the old one which then passed the MOT,Gixxer wrote: Re E C P, I'm assuming a LUK clutch would be ok however, point noted about other manufactures/labels
this was only fitted as i was fitting a new cat for the MOT,
the other thing was a pair of front susp/arms for a V*O*L*V*O V70, just over £100 quid each, the bush's fell apart within a year, and they did BBBB all about it,
i belive they are suffering the T*E*S*C*O syndrome, squeezing there buying in price down so much the supplier produces crap sub slandered parts
