Post by Gregg1100 »

My daughter in law's fuel gauge has stopped working---can anyone tell me if the wires to tank unit are accessible, or is it a tank off job, please ??

Yes the sender unit/fuel pump are accessible from under the rear seat, just remove the big round plastic bung.

As above, accessible from under the rear seat. Will make the car stink of fuel though (petrol at least) if you remove said sender, especially if there's more than a bit of fuel in.

Early units had separate units in the tank, ie sender in one and fuel pump in the other, later ones have it all in one. You may still have two plugs under the rear seats though but will be really obvious which one you want. If in doubt post a pic.

As a thought check panel wiring as its not unknown to be a problem at this end rather than the sender itself.
