206 display change for fuel computer HDI 2004

Post by avamotor »

Hello All in French Car Forum world!

I have discovered that there may be a possibility that I can swap the clock display (2 line version) in my 2004 Peugeot 206 S, 1.4HDI for a fuel computer display from a GTI/GLX/High Line vehicle.

I have also seen a "you tube" clip of someone achieving this on a 307 but it didnt say if this was on a petrol or diesel.

He begins by removing the end of the comm 2000 unit to swap the "non functional" end of the wiper stalk for a functional button (with additional copper contact) and then set's the BSI computer to identify the clock display as present before configuring it etc.

Just to save me torching my car before embarking on this :-D , could i ask if this application is possible on a 1.4 HDI (2004)? :?

I have already removed the button off the end of the wiper stalk and can confirm that both circuit boards look alike!

Had anyone tried this? what parts did you use?

I am guessing that the correct display will be needed first "type B", not sure of suitable part number yet. Will additional wiring/plugs be required if this is possible and finally the end button for comm2000 unit (preferably from a scrap comm2000 unit) and at its worst possible an unpdate from Peugeot?

Please can anyone help in French Car Forum Land!!!! [-o<

Can't see any reason why this would not b possible , You would need to alter a few configurations I guess.
Trouble with the displays in these cars, is that hey are always faulty.
We have a 206 GTI Hdi with this display, and I can't for the life of me get a replacement. the display has lines through it.
A new one is over £300 + vat

What they always look like :(
This is actually one from a 307, they usually have he RT3 radio

Thank you for a reply Lighty.

I am sorry to see the state of your display, I will make a note of the numbers on the display in the attached photo and see if there are any in the dismantlers locally for you and let you know.

I have the PPT40 display (3 bulbs) but only the 2 line version, I have seen the bigger screened displays for sale on "Fleabay" also under PPT40 (3 bulb) but am unsure of the part numbers possible fitment.

I am also uncertain as to if the displays purpose is just does "display" the information or if it calculates it too and if this makes a difference between a petrol car display and diesel car display.

i think i need to try to find a cheap "bigger screened" version just to see it is possible to fit in a 1.4 HDI for a 2004.

Thank you.

I have a new display at work, with the connector that requires you to move the lever over to fit it, will post a pic up to see if its any good for you.
