307sw Rear Discs

Post by Paul240480 »

Hi, just a quick query. Been trying to order a set of rear discs for my daughters 2008 307sw 1.6HDI. There are quite a few that are listed for the car. But apparently the ones fitted to daughters car is a type with wheel bearings built in to the disc (hence much more expensive). I've never seen this type of disc. Does it sound right to you 'learned' folks :?:

I do recall that some 307 models did have this, I think they changed to this design after the model had been out a couple of years. I'm not sure if the change was all of them or some models, I suspect the former to be honest.

Thanks Spider. Thanks the chap at the online parts shop (mister-auto.fr) seems to be sure these are right. That said I asked the 1st time giving reg' & VIN for rear discs & they sent fronts  So I had to return at my outlay to get a full refund including postage..... Just want to be sure before I re-order

I can probably check in a bit to be sure just using the year as a guide but as I'd well gone before 2008 and I remember some having it as part of the rear discs, I suspect all later models did.

Actually give me 20 minutes...

There are a few choices on Servicebox, (as had to guess which 1.6Hdi unit it was, several types!) and then by build so I don't have part numbers, however I looked at a few and most were with the integral bearing.

I could get you the genuine part number with your VIN but that's not really going to help if you're using a third party supplier probably, not sure. :)

I would expect at 2008 that they are all (or 90% of them) going to be combi disc / bearing unfortunately.

They will be disc/hub jobs and there are two sizes of stub axles so the bearings will have different internal diameters.Euro or GSF stock both types at half a dealer price.

Being as you are in France, a uk supplier isnt much help I guess, All 307's 05 and onwards have the bearings built in. As said there are two stub axle sizes. The later renault meganes are also like this.
It sure makes a rear brake swap pricey.

Do you know lighty I get a lot of my stuff from UK , GSF Eurocarparts, Parts for Volvo etc, and many come in cheaper than here. When you get to 'weighty' stuff like discs, well postage stuffs it up. I try to tie those in with either visits to UK or visitors coming here.
This one fits neither  but mister-auto have been good to us in the past when needed.
Thanks for your input, good place this! :-D
