Replace Peugeot 106 Headlights

Post by Graham55 »

My daughters 2001 Peugeot 106 needs a new headlight.

I have been told the bumper needs to come off and is held on by 5 10mm bolts.

Well I can find two of them, the two on the outside behind the wheel arch liner.

I cannot find any others.

Does anyone have a picture of where they are please, or can be a bit specific in words to their location.

The outer two you've found on the edge of the bumper area. The others are set a few inches in the bumper at the bottom, they are 10mm and go into like a plastic fork shape (half a H if that makes sense) , its usually a grey bit of plastic. Its almost like they do not appear to do anything.

They run vertically, ie straight upwards.

If you look about where the towing eye is (don't undo the 13mm bolts on this!) its not far further across than that on the passenger side.

You'll only see the one on the passenger side as the washer bottle may have to move to see the drivers side one.

If its the passenger headlight you may be able to move the bumper out enough to do it without undoing the other one (not tested! although mine moved enough to undo the wing mount / headlight bolt)

Additional, if you are lucky you might not have to take it off completely, moving it out an inch or so at one end may be enough to undo the headlight lower bolt (goes through a plastic guide and the headlight if I remember correctly (I need to change the 'guide' on mine actually as its broken by the previous owner) , that may be enough to remove the light if the only reason for bumper removal is to get to the lower bolt.

You're welcome.

I should point out, I did not have to take mine right off, just one side (it moved enough although one bolt was missing anyway) so I'm not sure where the five bolts thing comes from, there's certainly four, or should be.

All done thank you, managed to wiggle it far enough to get to the bolts for the lights.

Don't want to do that again though!

You're welcome. :) I need to redo mine (that plastic part on the inner wing box section) that guides the bumper, mines broken and as one headlight bolt goes through it and the wing its not quite aligned.

Hoping to do what you did and just tweak it enough to swap it over.
