executive est 406 auto box with 110 hdi

Post by Elderton »

can anyone advise please.
i have now done 180,000 mls in my car and have a couple of questions about the autobox. there is no clutch slip no warning lights indicating a problem however when the gears change going up they tend to snatch & when changing down it clonks from 4th to 3rd & 3rd to 2nd. is there anything that can be easily replaced externally without having to remove the box that will make a smoother change? i have a ful history from new & some autovalves were replaced about 100,000mls whatever they are?!
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
michael

I'd initially suggest a fluid change to see what improvements that brings. :)

Jim, can you confirm the fluid type for this (I would guess its the usual Esso) but I'm not sure, I don't have tech data on HDi autos
