Pug 206 1.4 Head gasket thickness??????????

Post by rich201283 »

I am doing the head gasket and it is getting a pressure teast and skim.

There are 3 different head gaskets listed, each thicker than the other. Do i use 1 of these or put the standard on?

Although it might vary, I've always just put the thickest one on (certainly on diesels) as if you are skimming are you are (regardless of engine type) increasing the compression so a thicker gasket makes sense.

I agree with Spider, as it all depends on how much is removed at the machine shop when skimming.Your old head gasket will have notches that will tell you the thickness of it and then work it out?? Stick the thickest one on.
