Peugeot 206 driverside driveshaft?

Post by rich201283 »

Im doing a clutch change on a 206 1.6 and i cant get the driveshaft out, I have removed the 2 bolts and tried tapping the shaft but it appears siezed.

Can i take the box off without removing this?
I undid the bearing housing but it wont pull out due to it catching the back of the block

Make sure the securing bolts are rotated so as no to catch on the bearing then tightly clamp a large pair of mole grips to the shaft in a position that you can hit them with a hammer to drive the bearing out with the shaft.

I use a long punch and work my way around it a bit, once its moved a bit its normally quite easy.

i remove both the nuts completly,

then drift against the coller that is sticking through on the gear box side of the intermediate bearing houseing,

this is after the CV joint is pulled/seperated from the wheel hub

I removed my gearbox with the o/s driveshaft still in situ and i then removed the shaft by hitting it out using a block of wood to protect the splined end before refitting the gearbox. (206, 1.4 HDI)
