407 Clutch

Post by ACTIVE8 »

How long is a clutch job on a 407, and is the system hydraulic or cable?

Also are there any particular points to look out for?

At the time of posting I needed the info ASAP, to get an idea of what's involved.

At the time there was no chance of speaking to the main stealer, but now today they have returned, only the sales dept was open yesterday.

So the job is apparently 6.5 to 7.0 hrs long, (depending on the model) and it's hydraulic in operation.

The job is on a car belonging to a friend of a friend who lives miles away.

The independent garage has apparently quoted a price of £1000.00, and I guess this does not cost in the dual mass flywheel if it's needed, that's probably more money.

I had mine done at an indy and including the cost of the DMF and clutch, half that price.
It was in for a DMF change and had the clutch done while the box was off.

Do you know Euro car parts do a solid flywheel/clutch conversion kit at half the cost of DMF and clutch.

Thanks for the replies, that's useful info I will pass it on to the owner, to see if they can choose a cheaper indy, and also shop around for the parts!
