405 alarm problems.

Post by tobsta »

I think these freezing conditions are effecting my car. After about 3 hours of locking my car up for the night i look out the window and see the lights are flashing.

how do i disconnect the alarm. i see under the bonnet there is a key for the alarm and it is set to off.
so is there a fuse i could pull out or something?

The key just kills the siren not the alarm unit itself.

I cannot recall the proper procedure to disconnect these, it will not be a simple case of a fuse for obvious theft reasons.

There might be a control module under the drivers seat area (actually under the carpet) as there is on a 306 / ZX.

Having said that, hold the ))) button (its usually on the centre console or on the steering column for a few seconds as you get out, then lock it as normal.

That should stop the ultrasonics working which are the primary cause of fake alarms. If that fails, unplug them (fitted inside a-pillar usually) should still work without them.
