406 2L GLX Estate (97) - Fuel Leak

Post by Just40in »

Brother-in-law's 406 2L GLX Estate (97) has developed a pipe leak between the tank and the fuel filter. Peugeot part number is 1573XA but they say the part is no longer supplied.

Is is likely that scrap yards would let you have such a part ('ealth'n'safety etc)?
Does the pipe run involve removing the tank or anything silly like that?
Best Pug second hand parts people, in your opinions?
Would you know of who might hold this part?
Does anybody have an alternative - e.g. making a pipe run?
Any body scrapping a petrol 406?

Car is getting on - is it destined for the scrap yard itself??

Thanks for any help.

I don't have access to my tech data but I think that piece has the click connectors and is simply a S type shaped piece of plastic from the tank outlet to the filter, as the filter is quite near the tank really anyway.

You should be able to get at it from under the rear seats (remove plastic blank in floor)

I don't think the tank will have to come out, although it could help to loosen it slightly to give say an inch or space.

As I say, I don't have my tech data so cannot really be more specific. I am very surprised it is not available anymore, I would question that to be honest...
