406 radio

Post by markja55 »

hi, i have a 406 mk2 51 plate. recently the radio has been playing up and losing the signal. scrolling through the wavelenths. (fm1,2,3 am back to fm1 ) did the trick. it now doesn't find any ststions even on manual tune. cd player is ok. tried a wire in place of aerial but no joy. amyone know what bit of the stereo causes this?
cheers mark.(man with a soldering iron at the ready.) not trained on radios so can't fault hunt it.

If its not the aerial then there's not much you can do. The reciever parts in modern radio's are basically one module, unrepairable for the most part.

Try connecting a complete (cheap) car aerial directly from the unit, hang it out of the car window, and see if that works.
