Lack of power - Turbo faulty

Hi All,

Normally on Citro forum but a friend has a problem with his Peugeot 307 HDi 1.6 90HP. 55 plate

Lacking in power when accelerating, when I had quick look at work black smoke came out when rev'd and a whistling.

I suggested turbo problems and an unknown garage he has gone to thinks the same.

Stealers are quoting £1400 for new turbo, the garage in question is quoting £800.

How easy are turbo's to be found at scappies.

Rather than looking at a new turbo, first thing I would be looking for would be split vacuum pipes or ones that have simple popped off.

yep, if its whistling then there is a big leak somewhere.................
