406 AC pipes

Hi all,
Had a look at my dads 406 HDi today to find the leak on the AC, found the condensor knackered but the bottom pipe was also corroded to the point that it broke trying to take it out, I have found a replacement but it is a short pipe to the join at the other side of the rad pack behind the bumper/foglight, does anyone know how this joint comes apart, it looks like its crimped but does move, is it a socket with a ring holding it together?
