Peugeot 204

Post by davewithington »

Hi folks.

I normally post on the Citroen forum, but I wonder if anyone knows of this car.

I'd like to know where it is, and possibly buy it back.

I resurrected the car for a friend after he found it in Kevin Odlum's scrapyard, on the Knutsford road just past Alsager in Staffordshire. He ran it for a couple of years, and sold it on eBay after finding running two cars, one an elderly Peugeot, two much to cope with.

Let me know if you've seen it.

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for GAW 65M are:

Date of Liability 01 05 2005
Date of First Registration 22 04 1986
Year of Manufacture 1974
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1100CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour WHITE
Vehicle Type Approval
So not on the road since 2005. Not looking all that promising...

I'd looked at the DVLA site, and as you say not promising.

It wasn't too rusty when we recommissioned it, nowhere near as bad as I've seen 204 and 304s before, just a small patch on one inner sill.

If it's been stood outside though, it could be beyond saving now. At the time, it was one of two 204 saloons on the road in Britain, so I was told.

Always had a soft spot for the 204, I sold the last new one in the Potteries in 1977.

There may be more than two. The ex 204 registrar of Club Peugeot UK was selling his white and blue one last month, a LHD green one popped up on ebay a few months ago and there's a mint 1968 column change one down here in Devon as well - there's three for starters!

Good morning,

I thought it might be interesting for some folks here to see how we restored our 204...

What do You think? :)

Very nice restoration. My uncle had one of these vans when I was a child...I spent many hours in it
