405 alarm

Post by Toby_HDi »

Some weird goings on with my sisters 405.

She went to start it the other day, had a flat battery. So I took it off and charged it. After a charge it still only showed 12.6v so can only assume its had it, it did start the car however.

The problem is that removing the battery seems to have reset the alarm. Every time the door is opened the headlights flash for 30 secs or so. No siren though

I'm led to believe that locking and unlocking using the plip will work but her plip is broken. The alarm key under the bonnet seems to do nothing.

Any ideas? Can a key be reprogrammed using a Lexia or DIAG2000 if one was obtained and its guts put into the plip my sister has now (so that she had the right blade)

Thanks
Toby

Sorry Toby,

Wish I'd seen this earlier

If the plip is not working, try holding down the ultrasonic defeat button on the steering wheel cowl whilst turning on the ignition. Hopefully it's like the Xantia arrangement and that'll reset it.
