Tyre Pressures 206 1.9 d

Post by amjake »

Hi All,

found label on door pillar (just bought for wife) and says 2.4bar which equates to 35lb all round, is this a bit high??

funny how some misinterpret as the car had 24lbs all round!

Advice appreciated

What? You've bought your wife a door pillar Kevin :o

No, 35lb sounds about par to me. Modern cars to run with seemingly very high pressures compared to the oldies as it helps economy (lower rolling resistance) and there's a lot of weight to support.

The label usually gives two sets of pressures; one for normal running and one for when you have the car heavily loaded.

Thanks Jim

Door pillar?? If only!!! At least that whining noise from the passenger side in my car has dissappeared!!!

Thanks, that's what the door pillar says and drive wise obviously makes a huge difference considering all tyres were 11lb down all round!

Cheers, Kevin

We have a 2.0HDi 206 which also says 35PSi all round. I found that a bit high so i set them to about 33/34 front and 30/31 back.

I always find having a difference between front and rear pressures makes a car feel more stable and gives more grip, so i never go with an 'all round' pressure.
