406 not starting,no electrical apart from headlights.

hi folks, i have a peugeot 406 1800 petrol, a few days ago i ent to start my car but got no ingition lights or no electrical inc,heater,radio,wipers,absoultley nothing only thing that came on was the headlights.can any one out there pls help?????

Have a look on the battery +pole power distribution.
You have a gross fault right here in this area, probably a defective (corroded) cable in a clamp, or a burnt out main fuse.

And after that ... our little darling … the ignition switch.

The headlights work with the key out.
