306 Top engine mount stuck.

I have just tried to unscrew the upper engine mount on my 306 in order to change it.

The trouble is it is totally stuck in.

I have tried turning the upper threads with a bolt removal tool, but the upper and lower threads are not connected and I just end up twisting the rubber. I have also tried tapping a groove in the metal and hammering it loose.

Due to the lack of access I was wondering if anyone had any tips/solutions to free it.

It has never been changed and the car is 13 years old with 220k.

i presume you have been under the wheel arch through the access point, to hold / undo the nut on the underside of the inner wing
