I have a 2000 1.9L Peugeot Partner 600 van, I used to get a beep when the heater plug warning light went out, I no longer get the beep when the light goes out and the engine will not start when cold without a bump start then it starts straight away. I assume that both problems are connected, has anybody any idea what is causing this?

When you say won't start, will it crank and just never fire?
It sounds like the glow plug relay may be failing, I had one fail on a 1.9td 405, the heater light would come on but the plugs weren't charging. The engine would eventually start as the compression built up heat in the cylinders, but it took quite a lot of revolutions before that occured.
The above is only my (educated) guess, I'd wait for a response from one of the more knowledgable members before ripping anything out to change.
