My late ('96) 405 TD has a very heavy clutch action, which appears to vary with engine or steering movement (?!!!). For example after engaging reverse, it will suddenly become stiffer at a critical moment! The clutch has recently been changed (by a Peugeot agent)and has made no difference (The clutch was worn anyway).
I am assuming a new cable is required, as I have checked the cable run (OK) but it appears to be very difficult access around both ends. Anyone had experience of this, and how hard is it to DIY?
