306 front and rear screens

Post by johnna »

I have a 306 dturbo 3 door 306. Am I correct in assuming both items of glassware are bonded in?

I have rust under the sealing strips which I will repair. I just need to know if the glass is pop out or cut out.

I'll make a stab and say both are bonded in Johnna :(

The front screen can be cheese-wired out by a local, friendly windscreen man easily but you'll be very lucky if he/she will contemplate refitting it.

The rear screen, if it is anything like a 205 one, is nigh-on impossible to get out in one piece and I think it is being a 306 is only a grown-up 205. You may be better off getting another tailgate from a scrapper.

Thanks Jim, I suspected as much. The front screen is chipped, so I may just perform the weld insitu and if it cracks, get a fresh one on the insurance.
As for the tailgate, an entire swap does seem wisest.

Thanks again.
