406 HDI phase 2 deadlocking / alarm

Post by rayc »

Hi everyone

My 406 HDI has come up with a sporadic fault.

When I lock the car and set the deadlocking for the alarm the alarm activates after about an hour or more (but not every time).

The red light in the centre console is blinking like mad.

Are there any common faults in the alarm systems such as bonnet sensors etc to look at or is it a main dealer to have the ECU read?

Cheers everyone

What year model is your 406 jewel ?

I believe that in general humidity is a common problem.

Try disabling the interior ultrasonic sensors before arming the alarm & see if it still does it. unfortunately i have no idea where the disable button is on a 406,maybe someone else or the handbook could help.
