106 weaknesses

Rust under boot floor - remove spare wheel to check. Leaking radiators. 1.4 litre engines - headgasket. Brake sliders (front) cylinders and handbrake levers in drum (rear). Rear radius arm bearings. Keypad immobiliser if fitted.

Anything electrical is a bit of a joke - there is a multiway connector in the front LH wheelarch. (Well done, PSA).

Having said all that, if you can put up with the pedals and the driving position, the 106D is about the best cheap town runabout going. I hope you managed to get a 1.5 - iron block, very much better.

It is indeed the 1.5D.
Just borrowing off friends at the moment with a view to buy, but the wife had a go in it and didn't like it.
It also has a bit of an issue with trying to get into gear. Not good, I'm guessing!
Still, as good as an excuse to get a TD Xantia or, even better, some form of flat bed pickup.
