replacing Aircon control BULB - removing front Facia

Post by Adstar »

OK, its my lovely 96 605 sldt. I have a dead bulb in the Aircon speed dial. I have removed the 'twiddly knob' which pulls off, BUT it is held on by a retaining clip which is BEHIND the front face of the aircon control unit!

So, can someone tell me how to get the console facia off/out? I spent 20 minutes last night searching for connections and brackets. Other than the one bolt covered to the left of the steering wheel, I can't find any other fixings!

OR, Can someone tell me how to get the air con control unit out (Without removing the fron facia.

This will allow me to replace the dead bulb (Which is VERY hard to get to in situ) as well as refit the 'twiddly knob'.

Once I have sorted this little problem, and identified the fog light relays/fuses I will be happy and stop trying to fix things!

Oh but I forget about replacing the head unit! Extracting that will be fun!
605 Only an SL but it is a DT with a shake rattle and role!
Mk 1 MR2 waiting to have the final useful bits removed... RIP.
