The other sensor is the TDC sensor in the top of the bellhousing.

Note that the ecu drives the tacho on these later 1.9td's, it does not have its own pickup.

The ecu will continue to drive the tacho from either the injector lift sensor or the tdc sensor.

I have unpluged the injector sensor and the tacho still works, I have also unplugged the tdc sensor and the tacho again still works so it again rules the tdc sensor been at fault.

Someone suggested it could be the speed sensor, What do you think?

There are no other sensors relating to engine speed on this engine.

Hi Rich201283 I have a Peugeot 406 1.9 td to, my car is on the T plate and has developed the same fault that your Peugeot suffered. I am sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you got the issue resolved and if so how because I am at a complete lost as how to repair mine and any input would be very muvh appreciated thanks.
