406 1.8 Bhp?

Post by Bigjoe »

Hi all,
Ive(we've) currently got a 1.6i xantia (i know,i know!) that my other halfs mother bought for her as a birthday present, but im in the position to buy a 1996 406 1.8 as the xantia is a money/time pit and i want another 406 as i had a 1.9td 406 until a very unobservant woman wrote it off for me! (268000 miles and still ran beautifully!),and i would like to know what sort of Horsepower and torque the 1.8 petrol has?

(i know its nothing like a diesel pull)

Thanks all

Joe
Im out there somewhere!

Xantia 1.6i LX (i know but i had to start somewhere!)

112 BHP for the early cars,118 BHP for the later cars. Not sure about the torque, but i think off the top of my head it was about the same as the BHP,115-125 LBFT i think.Check out Parkers for BHP 7 performance etc

If you click on the cars on the left hand side,it will give you more info on them.Although it does not give torque for the early cars,it does on the later cars,99 etc. :)
