Peugeot 405 Sri HeadLights

Post by BuckTarbrush »

I hope somebody out there can help me,

I have a problem with my Peugeot 405 at the moment, all bulbs are ok as i have tried them in a friends car. I have side lights and main beam but dip only works every now and then, I was told it was the stalk on the steering column that was the problem but I have replaced it with a new one and its still no better, is it likely to be a faulty relay somewhere ? as surely if it was a blown fuse, dip would not work at all

Any help would be great,Thanks

This is indeed a relay problem.

If it's a MK2 405, they're up under a cover by the pollen filter. Green. Wiggle them, and I bet there's a duff connection in there somewhere.

Thanks, Fastandfurryous,

The car is a 1991(H) 405 sri, have you any idea where the Main/Dip relay is on this model ?

errr..... can't remember about a MK1 405.... I think they might possibly be part of the fuse box, or could be behind the headlamps. Been several years since I had a MK1!

You may of course be able to trace their location from the click when you switch the dip beams on...
