pug 406 1.9 dt Advanced/Retard fault

My car is running rough and sluggish and running hot (the k light is on)

I have just pulled the brown wire off the pump (advance retard) while it was running and it made no difference which leads me to think this is the fault.

Can anyone advise me on what to do next to fix this problem?

Is it a problem where the pump will have to be replaced?

any body got any idea what the 2 relays are for in the box with the ecu as one is cracked?

Just had another tinker, When i start the engine the management light is off for a few seconds if i hold the revs you can hear the normal turbo whine, As soon as the management light comes on the whine gets slightly louder, Any ideas

blocked cat, egr?
