405 locking/alarm weirdness

Hi y'all,
My 1995 405 TD estate has a weirdness that I can't quite belive:
Using the plip to lock the car and set the alarm, sometimes the RH indicators stay on. If I unlock and lock again, the RH indicators will flash and go off as normal.
Recently, I have noticed when driving away that the RH indicators are on while driving. I have to stop, switch the engine off and operate the plip to cycle the alarm/locking to get the RH indicators working normally.
I'm a long-time electronics engineer but I've always though auto electronics are a subject best avoided!
Anyone with any clues?

Welcome to the world of rubbish PSA alarms, Yours has lasted very well, Its normal for them to fail much younger then this.
I take it being a 1995 car it has a drivers airbag, Well under the driver seat is a black plastic cover held on with 2 x 10mm nuts, Under this cover lives the alarm control box.
Turn the alarm siren off under the bonnet, The keyswitch is behind the passenger side headlight under that small black plastic cover ( you do have the special key dont you? )
Unplug the alarm box or pull the fuse ( In the handbook ) & jobs done.
Keep an eye on Ebay & your local scrapyard for a working alarm box, Theres many a Peugeot & Citroen with the same unit ( Some even work! )

Hi PowerLee,
can the unit with the keyswitch (situated behind the l/h headlight) just be replaced if you do not have a key for your own unit or does this have to match your alarm?

The key switch is part of the alarm siren unit, If you want you can get a new / second hand siren with matching key or get a switch from Maplins electronics & replace the factory key switch.
Im sure Maplins will have a switch that can be made to fit.
At the end of the day its just a simple on / off switch, The key part is to stop car thieves turning the siren off.

Hi, I got a new key from Peugeot a few years ago. Think I had to provide the chassis number and it cost about £25ish, thats £15 to search their database (probably about 10 secs!), and £10 for the key. Plus VAT of course, ho,ho.

If you go down this route, Get all the numbers for your car!
Radio code, Key code, Alarm key code.
