Is it necessary to change pollen filters. Is it easy to change or can it just be cleaned

Hi
For what a pollen filter costs & how easy it is to replace I wouldnt even bother trying to clean it.
If the pollen filter gets too blocked up you greatly reduce the aitflow into the car.
